Ranjit Sabikhi has been in practice as an Architect in New Delhi since 1961 and has had a wide variety of experience in architectural education, architectural practice and urban design. He taught at the School of Planning & Architecture in New Delhi from 1959 to 1975 and has also been a Visiting Critic to the Urban Design Program at the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University, and the School of Architecture at Washington University St.Louis. His experience includes a two year stint with Chamberlin Powell & Bon in London working on the Golden Lane Housing Project and early concept designs for the Barbican. As a Principal in his own practice, Ranjit Sabikhi who was a Founder Partner of The Design Group which was started in 1961, and also of Arcop Design Group formed in 1974, he was personally responsible for the design of a wide range of projects in India, the Middle East and South East Asia.

Major works include educational buildings, commercial complexes, urban design projects, hotels, industrial buildings, and domestic residences. The quality of his work has been professionally recognized by awards as well as inclusion in International Exhibitions and as a part of publications on Contemporary Indian Architecture. He has participated in several international conferences and has also served as a Member of the Jury for major projects including the design of the New World Bank Headquarters Building in Washington D.C.

Since 1990, Ranjit Sabikhi has been practising independently under the name of Ranjit Sabikhi Associates and has been involved in a number of major projects including the recently completed Trident Hotel at Cochin, and the Oberoi Wildflower Hall Hotel project at Shimla.
