Headquarters Office for Ashok Leyland  Chennai, India
		The proposals for the Ashok Leyland head offices at Chennai were developed as part of a limited competition. The shape of the building responds to the site and its location at the junction of two major roads. The vertical feature at the prow of the building along with the company logo is designed to be seen from a long distance on both sides defining a strong presence and character for this office complex. Curtain walls define the exterior of the office space on both sides.
		The building is entered from the rear via a four story high atrium contained within the flanks of the V-shaped structure. The ground floor accommodates the exhibition spaces for the company's products, which also includes commercial vehicles and trucks. Additional meeting rooms, a conference hall, cafeteria, dining facilities and health club are accommodated at fifth floor level, where another smaller four story atrium serves as a foyer and meeting place opening out to a landscaped terrace.
		Senior level corporate offices are located in set back offices at the top floor level opening on to private landscape terrace areas with exterior views of the vistas beyond.
