On
a site of 4000 square meters the complex includes the Chancery, Consulate,
Embassy Residence, Auditorium and staff residences. The form of the Embassy
is conditioned by the forts of Rajasthan with massive stone walls, ramparts
and hollowed out courtyards. Red sandstone on all the external walls reinforces
the monumental appearance. The limited exterior openings, sheer walls,
and series of Octagonal Turrets serve to accentuate the fortress like character of the building. |

The Embassy Residence although joined to the blank side wall of the Chancery, is totally independent having direct access from outside via a landscaped forecourt. Internal accommodation is organised around a centrally landscaped courtyard reminiscent of a Mughal Garden with trees and water fountains. Public areas of the Embassy Residence at ground level open into the internal court and adjoining external garden. | |
